The Head of Government chairs a meeting to monitor the implementation of the employment roadmap

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Rabat, dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the employment roadmap. This meeting is part of a series of sessions chaired by the Head of Government aimed at ensuring efficient follow-up on the roadmap's implementation and establishing governance mechanisms and coordination tools among the various stakeholders.
This meeting, the second of its kind chaired by Mr. Aziz Akhannouch since the release last February of the circular related to the roadmap, focused on examining mechanisms to strengthen the social and professional integration of the most vulnerable groups, particularly youth and women, as well as providing support to rural families. These groups represent a key focus of the employment roadmap, with initiatives targeting a reduction in job losses in the agricultural sector, easing women's access to employment, and combating school dropout.
The session also explored implementation methods and the effective operationalization of these initiatives, with an emphasis on promoting employment in rural areas—particularly encouraging youth to launch startups in the agricultural sector.
Attention was also given to measures adopted to combat school dropout and reduce by half the number of students leaving school, through strengthening model institutions, expanding the concept of "second-chance" schools, and implementing measures designed to motivate students to continue their education or pursue vocational training.
Among other measures discussed at the meeting was the promotion of women's access to the labor market, primarily by removing barriers—especially those related to childcare—through enhanced availability of daycare services.
During the meeting, the Head of Government reiterated the government's commitment to mobilizing the various sectors and aligning their actions to ensure the efficiency of government measures outlined in the employment roadmap. He emphasized the importance of establishing a system of good governance that ensures coordination among all concerned departments.
He further highlighted that the roadmap will contribute to creating a multisectoral momentum to promote employment through practical measures, reflecting the government’s belief that employment is a major national priority due to its role in preserving citizens' dignity and ensuring decent living conditions for families.
It is worth noting that the employment roadmap, which includes eight practical initiatives to boost job creation and reduce unemployment, has been allocated a budget of approximately 15 billion dirhams by the government.
