This meeting comes within the framework of continuing to track the implementation of social protection workshops and to determine the progress of the implementation work, especially in the part related to universal health coverage. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch recalled the stages made by the government since the beginning of its mandate within the framework of the implementation of the royal workshops to generalize social protection to all Moroccans, noting that so far 22 implementing decrees have been issued, which opened the door for compulsory sickness insurance for non-wage workers and those with rights associated with them. During the meeting, the Head of Government instructed the ministers to expedite the preparation of decrees and regulatory texts that will enable the roll-out of compulsory sickness insurance to the current beneficiaries of the medical assistance system "RAMED" before the end of 2022. He stressed that these measures will enable holders of the "RAMED" system to consolidate their gains, and benefit from basic compulsory insurance for illness. It should be noted that the state budget will bear the duties of the current beneficiaries of the medical assistance system "RAMED" in the National Social Security Fund.
