In view of the continued rise in international hydrocarbon prices and its repercussions on the national economy, Head of Government Mr. Aziz Akhannouch chaired, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Rabat, a meeting of the Ministerial Committee responsible for monitoring the impact of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East on the national economy.
The meeting resulted in a decision to continue the exceptional direct support provided to professionals in the freight and passenger transport sector, with the amount of this support being adjusted to reflect the increase in hydrocarbon prices.
This government decision aims to ensure the continued regular supply of markets and the provision of public transport services at the current fares, with no increase for citizens.
The Committee also noted the availability of energy stocks and the continued supply of the national market with agricultural products and basic commodities under normal conditions. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the regular supply of the national market despite geopolitical tensions and the pressure affecting the global supply of energy products.
Morocco currently has reserve stocks of butane gas and diesel sufficient to cover between 40 and 60 days.
As in previous rounds, professionals in the freight and passenger transport sector will be able to submit applications for support according to their respective categories via the platform https://mouakaba.transport.gov.ma and track their applications electronically.
